4 ♕ [Video]

[The view on the screen is upside-down and shaky, the folds of her dress being the only thing visible at first. The video tilts up, revealing her face and expression, much paler than usual and absolutely terrified.]

Link--! Sheik--! [Her voice is shrill, panicked.] He's here! Ganondorf is here!

[Once again the view on the screen is jostled around as she turns the communicator to point it at 'Ganondorf'. However, it turns out that the other creature in her croft is actually just a bunny. A fluffy, tan, line-faced bunny that is just shuffling forward into the center of the room.

Of course, this only causes Zelda to become even more agitated. With a little shriek, she tries to press herself further into the corner of the room, the communicator falling out of her hands and onto the floor. In her mind, the walls of her house are pressing in, smothering her with darkness, and Ganondorf is towering over her, backing her into the wall, waiting to torture and kill her. For some reason all rational thought has fled, leaving her cold, terrified, alone.]

((OOC: Zelda had borrowed a book from the Mansion's library, and keeping it this long has caused her to hallucinate and develop a case of irrational fear, etc. The book has now been borrowed by Aveil, and yes, Saki's new bunny is the 'Ganondorf' in this hallucination.))

[The bunny from the video is just going to be sitting innocently on the windowsill.]

Be careful, Link. He'll see you coming!

[Hearing Zelda's warning, Link approaches carefully. He doubles around to approach the croft from an angle that a window does not look out on. There is no one on the roof - no one that he can see, at any rate - and so he creeps closer. He even crawls under one of the windows to get to the door.

He's still dubious about the whole thing. Zelda had pointed her camera at a rabbit, not Ganondorf. But she had sounded so genuinely distressed that he wondered if that was the only view she could give. Best not to assume...

He steeled himself, then shouldered into the door, sword drawn, to find...

Well, no Ganondorf, at any rate.

He blinked.]

[The sudden sound makes her cry out in surprise, shrinking further into the corner of the room. It's not her normal behavior, which should be the first clue. As she recognizes him, she relaxes a little, but not for very long. The rabbit on the windowsill turns to look at the new person in the room, its ears twitching.]

Link, watch out! Behind you!

[She points directly at the rabbit.]

[He turns and stares at the rabbit, a frown creasing his brow again. It seems to be a perfectly normal rabbit... very like one he's sure he'd seen around before. Having not watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail Not knowing of any precedant for bunnies being difficult, he lowers his sword.

Gingerly, he looks over his shoulder at Zelda, then reaches out and scoops the bunny up.

He turns.]

... Zelda?

[The figure of Ganondorf mysteriously disappears from her hallucination when he picks up the bunny, and for the first time she sees it clearly while its in his arms.]

Where did he...?

[The darkness fades, the monsters disappear, but now she just feels sick. She gasps as she's hit with a sudden wave of dizziness and leans back against the wall.]

[Shocked, he darts over, the bunny still in his arms, and reaches out to steady her.]

Zelda, what's wrong?

I don't know. [She just feels awful, and she looks awful. Pale, shaking all over...but she pushes herself to explain.] I'm seeing things that aren't there. I've been...hearing voices...

[Wordlessly, he passes her the rabbit. Then he takes out his ocarina, and sparing her a nervous, worried glance, he places it to his lips and begins to play the Song of Healing. He hopes that it will help, but has his doubts... it doesn't sound like the sort of thing this song is for. Still, the melody remains soothing.]

[She holds the creature close, thankful that it seems patient enough with her cuddling. The notes of the song wash over her, returning some of the color to her face. But it's still not enough. The creepy faces continue to haunt her walls, and if she focuses, she can almost make out what they're saying...she shakes her head.]

I can still hear them.

What's happening?

[He reaches out to touch her shoulder.]

[The touch is comforting. It helps a little, but once again it's not enough. She just shakes her head.]

I wish they would stop. I don't want to see them...

[They're driving her crazy, the faces and voices and that nagging fear that won't let her go.]

When did it start?

Only a short while before now. [She tries to remember exactly at what point it started, whether it came all at once or whether it was gradual, but putting any thought into it at all gives her a headache. She only recalls one thing.] I have felt so tired, these past few days...

Let's go to the infirmary. [He holds his hand out for her to take.]

[She wants to take his hand, she really does, but thinking about leaving the room makes her cringe. What if the monsters follow her and attack the other villagers? Maybe they are real after all. Now that she wants to leave, it's getting harder to believe that they are just an illusion of some sort.]

I can't...what if... [The hand that was reaching for his draws back, and she covers her face.] I'm frightened.

[He holds her shoulders again.]

I was afraid. [He gives her shoulders a light squeeze, supportive. I'm here.] I was afraid so often. [He's sure she knows what he means. But it doesn't matter, because your fear isn't the boss of you.]

[She lets her hands slip down as she looks up at him. If anyone would know about facing fear and having courage, it's him. And she has the wisdom to recognize that and trust him. She places a hand on his, courage and wisdom, and takes a deep breath. She's not alone, she has Link.]

What should I do?

[He smiles, glad that she trusts him enough for this.]

Okay. What've you done that's different? Were there any weird fae around?

[She thinks about that, instead of answering immediately. What was different. Well, for starters, she's been feeling tired ever since...]

The dragon's attack. I used up a lot of my power, and I have yet to recover it fully.

[He nods.]

You need rest?

I have been resting for the past few days, but it hasn't helped.

[He thinks.]

We could pray at the Temple.

[Praying at the Temple means leaving the croft, and that only brings back the feelings of dread. But she tells herself over and over: I'm not alone, Link is here and it feels a little bit better.]

I'll try that.

Do you want to go now, or...?

[She nods quickly.] If I stay here any longer, I might convince myself not to leave.
